Effective donor stewardship for a charity or a nonprofit agency is much more than passively thanking and sporadically communicating with supporters. It involves the continuous practice of engaging new donors, solidifying and advancing relationships with current stakeholders and revitalizing ties with lapsed supporters. Stewardship is about building and nurturing a long-term base of support that is populated with passionate and committed donors. Ultimately, an effective stewardship plan ensures the future sustainability of an organization's programs and enables nonprofit leaders to create lasting solutions that enhance the well-being of their communities.
By participating in this workshop, registrants will gain an understanding of how stewardship is the key to maintaining and optimizing relationships with monetary and in-kind donors. Registrants will learn stewardship techniques and strategies that help donors to see and to realize the true impact of their gifts on the health and vitality of thier communities. Most important, this workshop aims to inspire board members, staff and volunteers to work together to develop a stewardship plan that safeguards their organization's long-term sustainability.
