The leaves are finally beginning to change, The shadows are noticeably longer. The air is getting cooler. The beaches, parks and pools are deserted. The summer clothes back in storage. The patio furniture is now covered by tarps to protect it from the harsh winter that awaits us.
To many, Canadian Thanksgiving signals that the year's end is fast approaching and offers a perfect moment for reflection and gratitude. This holiday reminds us to pause, appreciate the present, and acknowledge the journey we've taken over the past months.
During this period of reflection, we’re given the chance to consider how we might help shape the coming year into something better—for ourselves and for others. What small deeds can we perform to bring more health, happiness, and fulfillment to those around us? How can we foster a deeper sense of unity and belonging in our communities? Are there charities or non-profits we can support—through our time, talents, or resources—that will spark meaningful, lasting change in the spaces we share?
As we gather to feast with our loved ones, let’s take a moment to reflect on these questions. The actions we choose to take don’t need to be grand or heroic—but they should be heartfelt and intentional. Each small step, taken with purpose, adds to a larger movement of good. And together, those steps can carry us—and our communities—toward a brighter, more compassionate future..
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
